Customer Experience Application Engineer

About this position:
In this role you will provide expertise to support the sale and deployment of Context Labs Immutably Decarbonization as a Service and CLEAR Path platform products to customers. This individual will provide oil & gas industry facility and GHG emissions knowledge as a critical nexus to bridge the gap between our sales teams our customers and our product teams. You will work directly with the product teams sales teams and our customers to conduct product demonstrations understand the customer objectives and their digital readiness formulate solutions to complex data integration and transformation challenges and ultimately deliver success.
In a rapidly growing software company this is a crucial position with significant leadership exposure requiring multi-talented individuals. This person will work closely with sales executives product management teams and executive leadership to provide technical expertise live platform demonstrations and any other engineering-related support required during the pre and post sales process. This position will report directly to the Director of Application Engineering.
In this role you will:
- Provide technical expertise and perspective to the sales representative(s) to help identify customer objectives and evaluate readiness and product fit throughout the sales process.
- Lead platform demonstrations to Senior Executives (including C-Suite) from potential customer companies to support the sales team in displaying the capabilities of the Context Labs platform.
- Help the customer and Context Labs delivery teams to define technical and scoping requirements for planning and managing successful deployments.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to evaluate emissions quantification and life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies and identify the associated data requirements for customers
- Assist the Context Labs and the customers data science and engineering teams to acquire contextualize and transform the data.
- Work closely with the product management teams to stay up to date on the latest offerings and updates and provide feedback from customers to guide the product roadmap.
- Interface directly with customer technical teams (operations information technology and emissions) to field technical queries throughout the sales and deployment processes.
- Manage the creation of new or distribution of existing technical documentation in support of the sales and deployment cycles.
- Review customer technical documentation EPA GHG Emissions Data and other relevant emission documentation to identify potential sources of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).
- Provide highly responsive customer service and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction proactively identifying and resolving issues before during and after platform deployments.
- Communicate effectively across a large matrix team to ensure sales engineering product management and leadership are suitably coordinated and informed.
- Build strong internal and external relationships with professionalism courtesy and positivity.
- Help the customer and Context Labs project delivery teams create and manage project execution plans to ensure the deliverables are executed to the highest quality and on-time.

Experience:
- Exceptional written presentation and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to explain technical subjects to non-technical people.
- Outstanding ability to think on your feet.
- Outstanding organizational skills. Effectively able to manage multiple complex projects at once in a fast-paced environment and maintain positive collaborative relationships to interface effectively with multiple internal and external parties.
- The ideal candidate possesses 5 years of oil & gas industry operations experience and is interested in deploying this experience in a new way to meaningfully contribute to a rapidly growing start-up focused on energy transition and emissions performance.
- Significant experience in oil & gas operating facilities (upstream midstream or downstream) with the ability to thoroughly understand operational challenges and communicate effectively with customer personnel across functions and levels.
- Solid understanding of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Cause & Effects Charts (C&E) Electrical One-Lines Facility Layout Drawings and similar engineered facility drawings.
- Proven ability to take initiative and produce results and a strong ability to collaborate with a diverse team of technical and business personnel.
- Experience with enterprise software implementations involving complex data integration and migration efforts.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (process/process safety facilities/operations mechanical environmental or similar related field).
- Project Management and/or Agile certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in software practical understanding of modern application architectures and/or experience with RESTful API integration would be a plus but not required.
- Experience writing SQL queries to extract analyze or manipulate data from relational databases; comfort navigating large or complex datasets is preferred.
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of management tools preferred.
