We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Philippines. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll maintaining employee records and ensuring compliance with all government regulations. The ideal candidate will be meticulous knowledgeable in Philippine payroll laws and capable of handling payroll-related concerns with discretion and efficiency.




Responsibilities:


Payroll Management:

Process and verify employee payroll using Sprout Payroll system ensuring accuracy in compensation deductions and compliance with local labor and tax regulations.


Payroll Processing:

Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule.

Review the Final Payroll Register against uploaded payroll inputs to ensure correctness.

Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally.

Maintain and update employee payroll records ensuring they are accurate secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Compliance and Reporting:

Continuously monitor income tax deductions and ensure alignment with current BIR regulations.

Prepare Withholding Tax Summary for timely remittance to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

Review and validate monthly government remittance reports for SSS PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG including loans and contributions.

Prepare and submit required payroll reports for internal management and external compliance.

Stay up-to-date with payroll laws regulations and industry best practices.

Year-End and Audit Activities:

Manage the year-end payroll process including Alphalist preparation BIR Form 2316 generation and submissions.

Support internal and external audits ensuring all necessary payroll documentation is accurate and readily available while maintaining strict data privacy compliance.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with HR and other finance team members to coordinate employee movements (hires exits bonuses deductions etc.).

Provide accurate payroll data and insights to support financial planning and decision-making.



Requirements

Requirements / Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance Human Resources or a related field.

At least 2-4 years of hands-on experience in end-to-end payroll processing in the Philippines.

Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws tax codes and statutory benefits (SSS PhilHealth Pag-IBIG).

Proficiency in Sprout as payroll system/HRIS is required.

Experience in BPO or Outsourcing company is preferred.

Previous involvement in DOLE or BIR compliance audits.

Familiarity with government electronic filing systems (e.g. eFPS eSRS).

High attention to detail strong analytical skills and commitment to accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Minimum of 5 years Australian accounting and taxation experience Xero / MYOB Certified Experience in the preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts Experience working with Australian SMEs Competent with computer operations as well as some specific applications, such as Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Word, Excel, outlook. Experience with relevant computer systems The person must be keen to learn and develop their computer competencies Particularly good in verbal and written English communication skills
