Job Summary

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Payer Operations this positions primary focus will be on physicians and other professional providers. The role will provide support to facilitate communication between Mass General Brigham (MGB) Revenue Cycle Operations and other MGB corporate departments facility entities physician groups and payers in the identification and resolution of operational issues impacting revenue cycle functions.

Lead outward facing workgroups with Payers
oDevelop and maintain excellent working relationship with Payer representative(s)
oMaintenance of project plans
oInitiation of and/or participation in negotiation of issue resolution
oPresentation of recommendations and outcomes to senior management
Escalate identified issues for resolution.
oPerform necessary research and scoping of issue.
oMay be required to review claim details and remittance documents.
Prepare and present information for various cross functional team meetings internal and external to PHS.
Coordinate implementation activities related to newly contracted Payers and/or programs.
Monitor changes to Payer policies and communicate as needed on a timely basis.
Contribute to department efforts to present revenue cycle/payer related information network wide.
Research ad hoc industry related queries upon request document findings and communicate to relevant parties.
Work with MGB Contracting to resolve issues pertaining contract terms and to understand contract language as it relates to identified issues.
Participate in process improvement initiatives within Revenue Cycle Operations including but not limited to Everybody Solves Problems(ESP)
Represent physician and facility departments at meetings/presentations as requested/required.
May be required to support set up of new business/practices.



Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree preferred in areas such as Healthcare Management Finance and /or insurance or other related Field of Study
  • MGB can review and consider experience in lieu of a degree
  • Healthcare Billing/Revenue Cycle Management Experience 3-5 years required


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Microsoft Office: Excel Word and PowerPoint.
  • Epic system functionality preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively as member of team.
  • Self-motivated resourceful and able to take initiative.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle workflows physician based processes
