Purpose of the role
This is a critical role in delivering foundational software solutions that empower AI teams and accelerate business value without compromising safety or quality. As well as leading by example as a hands-on software engineer you will guide the team by defining and implementing the optimal technical approaches for building onboarding securing monitoring and generating insights from our tools and products. This role will help enhance and build our bespoke Engineering Metrics Platform that will be used across IAG Software Engineering to drive operational efficiencies enable data-driven decision-making and uphold engineering standards across the technical teams

Must Have Skills
Cloud-scale architecture: Designed and operated decentralised systems on AWS enforcing modern development best practices.
Technical leadership: Influenced engineering strategy and mentored multiple squads to higher standards.
Full-stack coding & IaC: Advanced in TypeScript Python GitHub GitHub Actions and Terraform.
DevSecOps enablement: Integrated tools such as SonarQube Cloud Snyk and GitHub Advanced Security into CI/CD pipelines.
Developer-experience champion: Deep understanding of tooling friction points and how to remove them.
Agile delivery: Drives continuous improvement in fast-paced agile/DevSecOps environments.
Stakeholder mastery: Balances business priorities with technical excellence and clear communication.
Best-practice evangelist: Sets documents and enforces development standards across distributed teams.
Hands-on practitioner and mentor: Delivers results through direct contribution and fostering continuous learning among junior engineers.
Change resilience: Excels in fast-paced high-change environments and remains composed under pressure.
AI-first developer: Expert in the use of AI tools for software development evangelises the responsible use of AI in daily work.
Strong relationship-builder: Enjoys working in a hybrid working environment to foster close teamwork accelerate knowledge sharing and strengthen cross-functional relationships.
Desirable Skills
Data-driven dashboards: Experience building Power BI reports and data models on AWS-hosted databases is highly desirable or willing to learn.
Platform tooling guru: Deep knowledge of GitHub feature set (auth apps policies) and experience shipping reusable developer toolkits.
Multi-cloud fluency: Working knowledge of Azure services and integration patterns.
Education Educated to degree level in Computer Science / technical degree or equivalent industry experience
