You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Regional Director of Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for executing the KIPP Texas Postsecondary Access vision with a team of school-based Directors of College & Career Counselors and Transition. This position will be responsible for the coaching development and access results for a portfolio of schools. Additionally this role will support the statewide work of CKCS curriculum alignment and instructional coaching for all seminar teachers and advisors at different KIPP high schools in one or more KIPP Texas cities. The Regional Director of Curriculum and Instruction will be responsible for developing college access and transition teams to increase overall college enrollment specifically four year college enrollment while building relationships with key stakeholders including High School and regional Leaders national organizations and college/universities and community organizations that will lead to resources for students.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Programmatic Management
Curriculum
Supports and Manages Curriculum Taskforce and submits changes to Senior Director of CP for approval.
Shares cascades and ensures statewide school alignment with CKCS Pacing Calendar Scope Sequence and Lesson Plans.
Manages and progress monitors all curriculum execution ensuring it is done with fidelity.
Supports the creation of curriculum-based professional development.
Works alongside SLMs and SLs to cascade curriculum materials observation templates and curriculum-specific goals.
Instruction
Creates a strategy around instructional development and focus to ensure KIPP Forward classrooms are taught with high level instruction rigor and strong systems and culture.
Cascades analyzes and progress monitors observations and observation foci during each arc of the year.
Collaborates with external and internal instructional stakeholders and partners including Winward Academy Talent Development KIPP Foundation SLMs SLs ACT SAT.
Supports Senior Director with all hiring of Instructors.
Personnel Management
Manages portfolio of 4 HS Programs (To be determined based on Hiring)
Coaching and development of Director of College and Career Counseling
Supports progress monitoring and achievement of rigorous college access goals at each high school.
Ensures monthly match meetings for each high school in their portfolio are attended and provides feedback to DCCCs.
Success for this role will be defined by: (goals should be closely aligned to the strategic priorities/duties above):
Goal 1: 55% four-year college enrollment
Milestone 1: 85% of the class with 24 will have plans to matriculate to a 4-year college or university.
Milestone 2: 65% of the class with 18-23 will have plans to matriculate to a 4-year college or university.
Goal 2: 100% of schools are implementing the CKCS curriculum consistently and have completed all assessments with fidelity.
Goal 3: 100% of seminar instructors at portfolio schools are observed and given feedback 2x per week
Goal 4: 100% of high schools in RDs portfolio are holding regular monthly Match Meetings.
Goal 5: 100% of high schools in RDs portfolio consistently update the Matriculation Tracker Overgrad and any other requested data ahead of the weekly data entry deadline.
Qualifications :
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year institution required. Masters degree preferred.
2 years managing a team towards College Access outcomes
Experience working with high school students and their families in the college counseling field strongly preferred
Experience in high school college access programming and systems
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Experience in leading high-performance and diverse teams
Experience and knowledge of high school access programming and systems
Resilience strong work ethic and outcomes orienteddemonstrated ability to balance competing priorities under stress and follow through despite sometimes tight or back to back deadlines
Previous experience in using data to drive decision making strongly
Comfort with working in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work with a wide-range of people including teachers parents students alumni corporate partners vendors and admissions personnel
Ability to project plan organize and prioritize with a collaborative spirit
Fast learner with the ability to inquire and be open to feedback
Proven written and verbal communication skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
Professional development course on college and career readiness and success is essential
Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a stationary position often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a cell phone copy machine and computer printer.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Travel Requirements:
The Regional Director of Curriculum and Instruction will be required to travel to each of the schools under their portfolio at least 2 times per month.
