Department Overview:
The IT Manager Planning reports to the Sr Manager - Infrastructure & Engineering (I&E) Portfolio Delivery. This is a critical role supporting business segment infrastructure planning leveraging the other shared teams within Infrastructure & Engineering (I&E). The role is responsible for supporting infrastructure services planning in collaboration with their aligned business segment including Portfolio alignment to strategic initiatives helping to manage the overall interaction model between I&E and the segment technology bi-directional segment and I&E alignment supporting cost reduction fiscal planning and continuous improvement to services.
Job Description:
The accountabilities for the role include but are not limited to the following:
Segment Interaction Model:
Ensure ongoing understanding of business segment and I&E priorities and ensure alignment.
Ensure project priority is established reviewed regularly and maintained in alignment with business priority.
Ensure bi-directional communication and engagement as required for business sponsored projects that impact I&E as well as I&E Segment Impacting initiatives (SII) that impact the business segment.
Determine ongoing training requirement for segment and I&E on processes and technology supporting partner interaction.
Ensure regular and ongoing communication of I&E Segment impacting activities or processes to Segment Executives and business aligned stakeholders.
Support strategic alignment of segment portfolio infrastructure to strategic enterprise initiatives such as Enterprise Delivery Pipeline (EDP) Cloud etc. by understanding application roadmaps and ensuring that they are capitalizing on opportunities to align these initiatives as well as improving efficiency and addressing currency debt.
Maintain an understanding of the segments key applications and business functions including implementation complexity and major dependencies.
Through input from segments and I&E management team identify opportunities for cross functional improvements process simplification automation of functions to gain efficiencies and improve quality.
Segment Cost & Asset Optimization:
Maintain an understanding of the segments infrastructure portfolio.
Work with teams to identify opportunities to streamline simplify and reduce cost.
Work with segment technology partners to influence action plans to capitalize on opportunities.
Ensure that costs are aligned to services understanding trends identifying/investigating anomalies and identifying opportunities for reduction.
Segment Technology Debt Support:
Maintain an understanding of the segments infrastructure estate and delivery alignment to the Platforms & Technology (P&T) scorecard.
Work with segment to understand target exit dates plans and target state.
Monitor Target Exit Date assist with segment interaction to track remediations.
Job Requirements:
Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
Graduate Degree preferred.
3 -5 years relevant experience.
Expert knowledge and understanding of business and bank technology standards (e.g. infrastructure architecture processes applications platforms services) and managing/directing teams and projects.
Willingness motivation and ability to set work direction at an operational level work autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborate with other business or technology leaders to establish and execute on common goals with a medium- to longer-term business perspective.
Comfortable and capable of supporting a significant business area product group enterprise platform service or capability under a segment CIO or technology functional area.
Strong leadership creative problem-solving planning and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
