Thomas Cuisine is looking for a compassionate and skilled Patient Sous Chef to join our healthcare Medical Center team.

As a Patient Sous Chef you are essential to the day-to-day operations of the patient food service team. You will ensure the preparation of meals tailored to therapeutic and IDDSI-modified diets uphold kitchen excellence and support the culinary leadership team in training oversight and patient satisfaction. You will help deliver Thomas Cuisines REAL Food promise with heart and precision.
Prepare and cook meals for patients with therapeutic and IDDSI-modified diets (including pureed mechanical soft and other specialized textures).
Ensure consistent execution of physician- and dietitian-ordered diets following regulatory compliance safety and sanitation guidelines.
Collaborate closely with clinical staff and dietitians to ensure dietary needs and modifications are correctly implemented.
Support culinary operations assisting the Executive Chef or Chef Manager in training kitchen staff and monitoring daily food production.
Maintain clean organized and safe kitchen areas in accordance with HACCP and healthcare sanitation standards.
Ensure quality assurance through accurate portion control consistent presentation and adherence to production sheets.
Monitor kitchen inventory order supplies as needed and reduce food waste through effective prep and storage systems.
Support catering or special meal preparation for staff and guest meals as needed.
Foster a collaborative respectful and mission-driven kitchen culture that values REAL Food.
Prior experience in a healthcare food service environment with exposure to therapeutic diets IDDSI standards and patient meal services.
Ability to prepare IDDSI-compliant textures including pureed (Level 4) and mechanical soft (Levels 5 & 6) diets.
ServSafe Certification and valid State Food Handlers Card (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Strong attention to detail communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and kitchen teams.
Familiarity with electronic meal tracking systems production records and dietary guidelines.
Flexibility to work Thursday through Monday with varied start times based on business needs.
Eligible for weekend differentials and night differentials based on hours worked.
Ability to stand walk bend lift (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical kitchen duties for extended periods.

Wage Range: Between $26 and $30 based on experience
