We are seeking a highly experienced First Shift Swiss Machining Lead Programmer with strong programming and setup capabilities along with a deep understanding of Swiss-type CNC machining. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a high-precision environment and can support both production and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the setup programming and operation of Swiss-style CNC machines
  • Write and edit programs at the machine and offline using G-code and CAM software
  • Create and maintain setup sheets tooling lists and process documentation
  • Interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Perform in-process inspections and validate first article parts using precision tools
  • Mentor and support operators and junior machinists on best practices and techniques
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams to drive continuous improvement and process optimization
  • Maintain a strong awareness of quality standards tight tolerances and production efficiency
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in Swiss CNC machining including programming and setup
  • Proficient in blueprint reading GD&T and part inspection techniques
  • Skilled with micrometers calipers optical comparators and other precision instruments
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues make edits and optimize machining cycles
  • Comfortable working independently and as a team lead
  • Strong understanding of machining theory materials and cutting tool applications
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Swiss machines
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
  • Prior leadership or mentorship experience in a shop-floor environment
  • Ability to support both prototype and production runs
