Job Description

Instructional Coordinator (TOSA) - Lowrie Primary School

The start date for this position is the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.

The instructional coordinator will be in this role for a four year term. At the end of the four year term they can reapply to the position if they wish to continue as an instructional coordinator or they can move back into a licensed district position for which they are appropriately licensed.

Candidates bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Position Description:

The Instructional Coordinator as part of the school leadership team assists in the coordination of instruction and curriculum efforts within the school. In addition the Instructional Coordinator serves as a liaison to other Instructional Coordinators in the district and provides district-level support in technology gifted education and curriculum under the supervision of the district Executive Principal.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as a member of the building leadership team.
  • Serve as acting principal intheir absence.
  • Coordinate the building staff development program.
  • Coordinate the development evaluation and articulation of curriculum.
  • Coordinate the buildings curriculum and instruction efforts with those of other Instructional Coordinators and the District Director of Curriculum.
  • Coordinate the improvement of instruction.
  • Coordinate the screening for identification of and service for gifted students.
  • Work with Principal and Teacher-Librarian to promote technology integration into daily learning.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching;
  • Masters Degree required;
  • Oregon teaching license in assigned area(s) and proper endorsements;
