The Job

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Waste & Recycling Centre Supervisor to oversee all aspects of daily operations at our facility. This role ensures the centre runs safely efficiently and in compliance with all regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership operational planning and safety enforcement experience within a waste recycling or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling & Staffing:
    Manage employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels; support recruitment onboarding and performance management of team members.

  • Outgoing Waste Stream Management:
    Oversee and coordinate all outgoing waste and recycling streams to ensure efficient timely and compliant material movement.

  • Preventative Maintenance (PM) Scheduling:
    Coordinate scheduled maintenance for facility equipment; work closely with maintenance teams and vendors to ensure minimal downtime.

  • Site Safety & Compliance Enforcement:
    Promote a culture of safety; conduct regular site inspections and ensure all safety protocols and regulatory requirements are being followed.

  • Facility Maintenance:
    Ensure the overall cleanliness upkeep and functionality of the site including buildings yard and equipment.

  • Reporting & Communication:
    Prepare operational reports and communicate regularly with upper management regarding site performance issues and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in waste management industrial operations or related field with supervisory or management experience

  • Solid understanding of equipment maintenance schedules and waste stream logistics

  • Strong leadership problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in basic computer systems and reporting tools

  • Valid drivers license; equipment operation experience is an asset
