Your Role:

In this role youll lead the delivery and support of specialized IT systems that power research and development operations. Youll act as the primary bridge between scientific teams and technology ensuring applications are secure compliant and aligned with business goals. From managing vendors and budgets to driving system enhancements and project execution youll play a key part in shaping the digital infrastructure that supports innovation and regulatory excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full lifecycle management of R&D-related business applications including budgeting licensing vendor coordination and performance optimization
  • Act as primary liaison between IT and scientific/clinical teams to ensure systems meet evolving operational and regulatory needs
  • Lead and support software implementation projects including requirements gathering validation planning testing coordination and user acceptance
  • Develop and maintain technical strategies for enterprise-level systems ensuring alignment with internal standards and compliance policies
  • Manage system upgrades integrations and support plans to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption
  • Administer and monitor application environments including backups recovery performance tracking and issue resolution
  • Provide Tier 3 support and root cause analysis for system issues collaborating with internal teams and external vendors
  • Facilitate governance activities such as steering committees change control boards and design reviews
  • Continuously improve support processes and prioritize enhancement requests across the R&D portfolio
  • Communicate system status outages and changes to stakeholders and ensure transparency in operations
  • Contribute to the development of validation strategies in collaboration with QA and IT compliance teams
  • Review and assess test plans and results to maintain traceability to user needs
  • Support end-users in preparing and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Build and maintain dashboards reports and scorecards to monitor key system metrics and business indicators

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a technical or business analysis capacity with emphasis on supporting R&D systems or enterprise IT solutions
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science Information Technology Business Biology Chemistry or a closely related technical field.
  • Proven experience managing validated systems in a regulated life sciences or pharmaceutical environment
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) system validation and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and manage cross-functional project teams
  • Experience with vendor management licensing budgeting and application support
  • Familiarity with R&D functions particularly clinical operations regulatory affairs pharmacovigilance and medical affairs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to lead meetings and coordinate across departments
  • Comfortable working outside standard hours for system maintenance or support when needed
  • Strong working knowledge of clinical data platforms commonly used in Pharma/Biotech including tools like SAS 9.4 SAS Viya R-Studio eCOA IRT Medidata Rave EDC and Veeva applications
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects involving cross-functional teams of 1020 members delivered on schedule and within budget

Adhering to the requirements of Californias law on salary transparency the salary bracket for this role is set between $130000 $160000 annually. The offered salary may be adjusted based on various factors such as the applicants qualifications skills and professional experience.
