SUMMARY: The Director of Technology & Digital Learning for the Wilmington Public Schools reports to the Superintendent of Schools and is a member of the districts Senior Leadership Team. The Director serves in the role to plan lead and implement operational programs and services that support the technological operations of the district including within the areas of instructional and administrative technologies. This is a 12-month DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Review develop and implement the district s technology plan. Coordinate and provide professional development for administrators teachers and staff related to technology integration in educational programs and services Plan and oversee the departments budgetary planning in order to support the districts technology plan including the purchase and acquisition of services hardware and software Manage and oversee the districts network and infrastructure Supervise and manage the districts email system student information systems website phone/voicemail camera and door security systems and the data reporting to the MA DESE and the federal government Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team as well as the districts instructional leaders to plan develop and implement appropriate professional development for staff Chair the District Technology Committee(s) Collaborate with Student Support Services to implement assistive technology for Special Education students Ensure District compliance with federal and state technology mandates and initiatives as well as state and federal laws Maintain and inventory of software purchases and licenses Create and maintain systems policies and practices to defend the district from cybersecurity attacks Lead and implement 1:1 and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) district initiatives Maintain Student Data Privacy Agreements for all software containing student personally identifiable information Seek grant opportunities to assist in acquiring maintaining and improving technology district-wide Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the (Interim) Superintendent of SchoolsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises and evaluates the following personnel: Network Administrator Desktop Technician Information Technology Support Technician Systems Administrator and Information Technology Data Assistant. Provides direct supervision of department staff and shares joint supervisory responsibilities with building principals and program directors for the oversight of Integration Specialists.
