Job Description

Onstream Pipeline Inspection is a leading provider of Inline and Tethered Magnetic Flux Leakage Caliper and Inertial Measurement inspection services for oil and gas pipeline operators across North America.

We are currently seeking an Electronic Technician with strong mechanical aptitude to support the maintenance troubleshooting and overall upkeep of our inspection tools and related components. This position involves hands-on work with polymer materials and electronic systems including the over-molding of cable ends diagnosing equipment malfunctions and contributing to both shop-based and field operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on electronic components of inspection tools
  • Install firmware updates and assist with calibration and testing
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electronic issues
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters oscilloscopes and load testers
  • Interpret and work from wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Assist in over-molding and encapsulation of cable ends and connectors
  • Document work performed and track issues using company software
  • Support field operations through occasional job site visits
  • Assist with general shop tasks and maintain a safe clean work environment

Education & Experience:

  • 13 years of experience in electronics maintenance or repair
  • Experience in troubleshooting firmware updating and diagnostics
  • Familiarity with wiring diagrams schematics and test equipment
  • Exposure to over-molding/encapsulation (preferred but not required)
  • Basic mechanical skills are an asset
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel occasionally

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of electronic fundamentals
  • Able to work with Windows OS and internal software tools
  • Basic soldering and wiring skills (SMD experience is a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving time management and organizational skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Self-motivated dependable and a team player
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
