Job Description

Introduction

ASML US including its affiliates and subsidiaries bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster cheaper more energy-efficient microchips. We design develop integrate market and service these advanced machines which enable our customers - the worlds leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips which in turn leads to smaller more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven Netherlands and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices inChandler Arizona San Jose and San Diego California Wilton Connecticut and Hillsboro Oregon.

Job Mission

The Electronics Development (EDEV) laboratory is a large multi-station facility supporting numerous development test and troubleshooting activities performed by engineers and technicians from throughout the EUV engineering group.

The EMC test facility is a dedicated laboratory with full capability to test electronic equipment in accordance with recognized international standards for radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibility power anomalies and electrostatic discharge susceptibility.

As the Electronics Laboratory Coordinator you will have total responsibility for the operation of an Electronics Laboratory and an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) test facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of work being performed in the laboratory at all times.
  • Maintain the laboratory in a neat orderly condition.
  • Provide users scheduled access to application- specific test benches and workstations within the laboratory.
  • Ensure test benches are properly equipped and functional.
  • Maintain inventory of functional and calibrated general-purpose test equipment.
  • Manage laboratory budget.
  • Participate in capital expenditure (capex) development and account for laboratory capital assets.
  • Train engineers and technicians in the proper operation of test benches and equipment with special emphasis on electrical safety.
  • Assist in custom setup and troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Maintain the EMC test chamber and equipment in a safe and fully-functional condition.
  • Become a subject matter expert in EMC test in accordance with the applicable test standards.
  • Become an expert in the operation of the test chamber and equipment.
  • Train engineers and technicians in the proper setup and operation of the test chamber and equipment.
  • Monitor or supervise engineers and technicians during EMC test activities.
  • Assist engineers and technicians with the gathering and analysis of test data and suggest mitigations in the event of test anomalies or failures.
  • Look for opportunities to make the EMC test facility available to other ASML entities ensuring its maximum utilization and value to ASML.
  • Make suggestions for ways to expand EMC test coverage through the acquisition and deployment of additional test equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience as an integrator and/or test engineer of electronic/electrical functions.
  • Broad technical knowledge of electronics with basic knowledge of physics mechanics mechatronics firmware and software.
  • Comfortable using test and measurement equipment.
  • Experience in safety and EMC standards.
  • Supervisory experience.

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego CA . It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork collaboration and innovation.
  • A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard finger handle and feel; stoop kneel crouch twist reach and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment wearing coveralls hoods booties safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$25

Pay scales are determined by role level location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to job-related skills relevant education and experience certifications abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
