Job Description
Brooklyn Heights Montessori School (BHMS) is currently seeking to fill the following roles starting in September 2025.
- Lunch/Recess/Afterschool Teacher (12:00pm-2:00pm & 2:45pm-5:00pm: 21.15 hrs/wk)
The Lunch/Recess/Afterschool Teacher will work between 12:00pm-5pm Monday through Friday. They will monitor and care for large groups of students between grades 1st 2nd and 3rd during lunch and recess and then Pre-K 1st 2nd and 3rd graders during after care. Total number of hours per week is 25 hours and the compensation is $23/h.

Requirements:
- Must have 3 years of extensive experience working with groups of Pre-K Elementary age children in a professional setting
- Must be comfortable managing up to 10 students alone
- Must actively practice positive disciplining at all times
- Must have strong work ethics and clear timely communication skills
- Must be able to accommodate last-minute changes and stressful situations calmly and professionally
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Knowledge or training in Montessori is a major plus
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
