Ohio Wesleyan Universitys Department of Journalism & Communication invites applications for a one-year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position in Communication with an emphasis on global perspectives. The successful candidate would teach three courses per semester in core Communication subjects including: Communication Theory; Research Methods; Persuasive Communication; and Mass Communication (Media Effects and Society). Further the successful candidate will contribute to the Communication departments commitment to elevating global perspectives and OWUs anti-racist curricular mission and will have demonstrated experience working with diverse students both inside and outside the classroom. We seek candidates who are committed to providing students with an active supportive learning environment. No additional departmental service is expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have experience teaching at the university level and have completed a Masters degree in Communication.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in Communication completed by August 2025.

Expertise and experience teaching upper-level communication courses is preferred.
