Position at Nuvance Health Med Practice PC
Title: EEG & EKG Technician Kingston NY Neurology Primary Care (Per diem)
Summary: Performs electroencephalography (EEG) brainwave that assists the Neurologist to establish a diagnosis and treatment plan for the patient
Responsibilities:
- Performs routine and Stat on-site EEG and ambulatory EEG testing of patients ranging in the age from infant to adult utilizing critical thinking skills and practices.
- Performs video EEG testing of patients ranging in age from pediatric to adult utilizing critical thinking skills and best practices.
- Uploads and Transfers data from ambulatory EEG tests into the database to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data.
- Communicates with the Neurologist about the status of patient tests including any barriers or observes abnormalities. quality control (QC) to achieve best possible test results per standards.
- Educates patients and care givers on the testing process and answers any questions or concerns to promote patient compliance and satisfaction.
- Acts as a liaison to contracted call staff and colleagues at other institutions to facilitate testing and interpretation during off hours.
- Provides new employee orientation and acts as a resource for new/or contracted staff.
- Communicates effectively to other members of the Healthcare team regarding patients and their tests.
- Orders and maintains supplies related to EEG Testing.
- Maintains a database of patients served by the EEG department.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.
- Demonstrates regular reliable and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education Required: HS Graduate or Equivalent
Required: Current BLC for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
Required: Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records.
Preferred: Previous experience performing EEG/Ambulatory EEG/Video EEG testing.
Preferred: Registered EEG Technician from ABRET or ASET.
Salary Range: $18.97 - $35.21 Hourly
