Schedule:This is an in person position Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Position Overview:

This role is pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate claim submission denial management and process improvement. The Billing Supervisor will serve as a key resource for training workflow optimization and team performance monitoring but will not be responsible for issuing disciplinary action. Instead they will provide valuable insights into team performance and assist the Billing Manager in identifying and addressing challenges within the department.

What you will do:

  • Collaboration & Department Support:

  • Assist the Billing Manager in overseeing the Billing Specialist team ensuring accurate processing of charges claims and payments.
  • Provide guidance training and support to Billing Specialists to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality performance.
  • Review the performance of the billing team providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for development and process improvement.
  • Serve as a go-to team resource for complex billing issues and troubleshooting.
  • Support the Billing team in resolving escalated billing issues and coordinate with payers when needed
  • Work closely with the Billing Specialists and the Billing Manager to resolve outstanding claims and bottlenecks affecting cash flow.
  • Assist the Billing Manager to ensure compliance with Oregon Medicaid Medicare Advantage and private insurance billing requirements.
  • Works collaboratively and maintains professional boundaries with clients other NARA staff team members and always treats everyone with respect
  • Billing and Claims Processing:
  • Process insurance A/R accounts and follow up on outstanding claims.
  • Review EOBs research denials and resubmit claims as necessary.
  • Verify eligibility using online systems and databases.
  • Key in tickets enter traceable notes and ensure all billing transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Identify denial trends and assist the Billing Manager in implementing corrective actions to reduce rejections.
  • Submit secondary insurance claims.
  • Assist with payment posting adjustments and claim status corrections.
  • Submit claims to DSHS and file claim batches as needed.

Qualifications

We would like to hear from people that have:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 2-5 years medical billing experience

Experience with Medicaid Medicare/Medicare Advantage and Commercial insurance billing

Experience with denials management AR follow-up claims submission and claims resolution.

Experience with billing data to identify trends.

Experience with training staff and developing process improvement strategies.

Excellent communication problem-solving skills conflict resolution skills and customer service skills.

Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain a productive and supportive work environment without enforcing disciplinary action.

Must pass pre-employment or for cause drug tests

Must pass criminal background and DMV checks.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of PPS rates and AR reconciliation.

Prior leadership or mentoring experience in a medical billing setting.

Experience in Athena Practice Management system preferred.

Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community preferred
