Shift: M-F 5 x 8 Days; traveler has the option to work between hours starting anywhere within 6A-9A and ending anywhere within14:30 (230P) and 1700 (500P) PST Contract Length: 16 weeks with the possibility to extend or permanently hire Fully Remote - candidate must live in PST zone* Requirements: - H.S Diploma GED or Equivalent - 2 Years of Experience as a Healthcare Reimbursement Specialist -Strong knowledge of Medi-Cal (Mcal) and Medi-Cal Managed Care Hospital billing (HB) - Proficiency in microsoft products: Excel Word and Outlook - Ability to review denials/underpayments and know corrective actions to take based on the denial rationale and reason codes - EPIC highly preferred Job Description: Under the direction of PFS Leadership the Reimbursement Specialist I is responsible for billing & collections of outstanding account balances for commercial government & managed care payors as assigned. The Reimbursement Specialist I is required to identify & report payor issues to their leadership. It is a requirement for the Reimbursement Specialist I to read interpret & apply complex payor contract language to expected reimbursement calculations & pursue all payments due to the organization. The Reimbursement Specialist I must perform account collection activities utilizing internet resources & professional telephone communication etiquette. The Reimbursement Specialist I is required to compose professional written correspondence with all internal & external entities.
