The Director of Gifted and Talented will be responsible for the planning implementing evaluating and supporting a comprehensive district-wide Gifted and Talented Program leading the district in best practice delivery of services to gifted learners and serving as a liaison between teachers administrators schools and parents community and outside agencies to increase effectiveness in meeting the needs of gifted and talented students.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Masters degree from an accredited college or university
New Jersey Department of Education School Administrator Certificate preferred
New Jersey Principal Certificate required
New Jersey Supervisor Certificate
Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in a school or district level administration
Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in teaching and leading Gifted and Talented programs
A minimum of seven (7) years of professional demonstrated experience delivering training professional development public speaking and facilitation of meetings and training.
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plans and assists instructional staff in developing specialized learning activities for the purpose of enriching the learning opportunities of students who have needs beyond the classroom curriculum.
2. Implements ongoing screening and identification procedures in alignment with
3. Assumes responsibility and provides coordination and expertise for the purpose of ensuring systematic and continuous K-12 programming and flexibility in planning for the needs of gifted students.
3. Informs develops implements and directs a model for gifted and talented services using differentiated learning groups clustering groups and/or direct instruction for the purpose of managing gifted and talented learning programming and providing K-12 articulation of services to students and teachers.
4. Provides coordination and expertise for the purpose of ensuring systematic and continuous K-12 programming and flexibility in planning for the needs of gifted students.
5. Collects analyzes and evaluates student data for the purpose of monitoring student progress program evaluation and continuous improvement of gifted learners.
6. Guides staff parents and community in the interpretation of the school districts programs in compliance with legal requirements.
7. Serves as a consultant to school principals and other school administrative personnel for the purpose of identifying assessing monitoring and programming of gifted and talented learners by implementing best and most current practices.
8. Makes instructional recommendations to grade level and subject area teachers for the purpose of providing materials methods modeling and ideas to ensure appropriate educational experiences for identified students in classrooms.

SALARY EMPLOYMENT PERIOD AND UNION AFFILIATION
Salary: The salary range for this position is $156000-$171000.
Employment Period: Twelve (12) Months
Union Affiliation: City Association of Supervisors and Administrators (C.A.S.A)
