Description

Mission: The Link works with youth and young families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice. Our 23 programs provide supportive housing intensive case management services and skills development to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness sex trafficking and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system. The Link prides itself on its innovative youth-centered strengths-based programming for youth and families as well as programs that are co-designed implemented and overseen by youth.


Position Specifics

  • Hiring Salary Range: $ 26.68-$31.00/hour based on qualifications
  • Job Type: Full-Time Non-Exempt
  • Location: Minneapolis MN
  • Hours/Days: Mon-Fri 8:00-4:00


Basic function

This position oversees many of The Links accounting functions to include accounts payable employee accounts payable training and credit cards.


Essential Functions

  • Handle and process ACH payments such as reoccurring bills and staff reimbursements
  • Manage credit cards including issuing to staff as needed monitoring timely submission of statements and receipts
  • Manage accounts payable
  • Train staff on accounts payable
  • Reconcile benefit payments
  • Prepare rent checks and manual payroll checks
  • Handle day-to-day accounts payable transactions
  • Monthly reconciliation of account payable general ledger and outstanding checks
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
  • Providing back-up and support for others in the department as necessary
  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity of financial process
  • Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field
  • Understand grant agreements in order to ensure proper allocation of costs

Requirements

  • Computer application proficiency including Microsoft Outlook Word Excel
  • Ability to pass a criminal background and credit check
  • Regular attendance is a must

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of previous accounts payable experience is required 3-4 years of previous experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelors Degree in accounting finance or related field preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with financial processes required
  • Experience in operation of PCs and office applications with strong knowledge and experience with MS Excel required
  • Experience with office equipment required
  • Experience with QuickBooks strongly preferred
  • Understand GAAP and nonprofit accounting required
  • Experience in Microsoft Applications required

Working Conditions

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear
  • The employee is regularly required to work at a computer for several hours at a time
  • The employee is frequently required to use manual dexterity for use of objects tools or controls as well as visual acuity
  • Work environment for this position includes shared office and common space with a low to moderate noise level
