Head of Strategy & Operations
Location: Remote or Hybrid
Reports To: Parent Company CEO
Role Summary:
Our client s parent company is seeking a highly analytical -driven Head of Strategy & Operations to act as a force multiplier to the CEO and the leadership team. This role is a mission-critical Chief of Staff-level leader who will drive all strategic initiatives forward track and enforce operational and financial KPIs and ensure that the entire value creation roadmap is delivered across functions. This person will be at the center of everything a cross-functional generalist with executional grit strategic acumen and financial discipline. You will own high-priority initiatives across departments facilitate critical decisions standardize weekly performance reviews and help streamline internal tools and reporting systems. You must be equally comfortable in a boardroom with a slide deck as you are diving into the weeds of MRP data labor planning sales performance or vendor cost structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Management & KPI Ownership
Lead the design implementation and enforcement of company-wide KPIs including sales operations engineering throughput procurement efficiency delivery timelines and service performance.
Build a weekly executive reporting cadence pulling inputs from Sales Engineering Operations Finance Parts & Service and presenting performance updates to the CEO and executive team.
Proactively identify underperformance and bottlenecks; drive corrective actions with relevant department heads.
Strategic Initiative
Own end-to-end of special projects (e.g. software implementations vendor cost-reduction programs new product launch coordination pricing changes).
Build and manage strategic workstreams ensuring cross-departmental alignment and accountability across owners and timelines.
Partner directly with the CEO to prioritize initiatives that drive profitability scalability and value creation.
Process Optimization & Tooling
Lead internal implementation and improvements across business systems (e.g. Fishbowl MRP CRM Google Workspace financial reporting and dashboards).
Identify operational friction points and implement process automation or simplification to increase team velocity and reduce failure points.
Business Intelligence & Financial Partnership
Partner with Finance functions and Sales / Sales Ops to model and track forecasting margin improvement pricing analysis and ROI of major investments.
Evaluate build timelines cost of goods sold inventory turns and capacity planning from a financial performance lens.
Assist in preparing management reports parent company updates and strategic reviews with CEO.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
Act as the bridge between strategy and ensuring that the what and the why of the business strategy is aligned with the how and when across departments.
Build trusting relationships with department leaders enabling influence without direct authority to ensure stays on track.
Function as a proxy for the CEO in internal meetings and workflows when appropriate.
Requirements:
7 years of experience in strategy business operations management consulting private equity portfolio ops or cross-functional leadership roles
Proven track record of leading high-impact initiatives across multiple departments in an operational business (ideally capital equipment manufacturing or supply chain-intensive industries)
Deep fluency in business KPIs project management methodologies and operational process mapping
Strong experience with analytics reporting tools and systems like ERP/MRP software Google Workspace Excel/Sheets and PowerPoint/Slides
Strong executive presence structured communication skills and high EQ
Exposure to industrial manufacturing or engineered product businesses (capital equipment B2B hardware etc.
Experience at a private equity-backed company or in a transformation/scale-up environment (not required but extremely helpful)
Familiarity with Fishbowl MRP NetSuite Salesforce or
