Job Description
We are looking for a highly experienced Chief Engineer with a strong civil engineering background and at least 15 years of proven experience specifically in road construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and technical aspects of road projects ensuring alignment with industry standards project timelines safety regulations and budget expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for multiple road construction projects.
Oversee the preparation and review of design documents technical drawings and specifications.
Supervise site engineers project managers and subcontractors to ensure quality and compliance.
Conduct technical evaluations ensure the use of appropriate construction methodologies and solve engineering challenges on-site.
Lead project planning budgeting scheduling and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with local and international engineering standards and HSE policies.
Coordinate with clients regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders throughout project life cycle.
Guide material selection and usage ensuring cost-efficiency and structural integrity.
Mentor junior engineers and build strong engineering teams across various project locations.
Requirements
. or . in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 15 years of experience with a strong focus on road construction.
Registered with relevant engineering bodies (e.g. COREN NSE or equivalent international licensing).
Deep knowledge of construction methods materials and regulatory standards in road infrastructure.
Strong leadership team coordination and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and project documentation abilities.
Proficiency in engineering and design software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D MS Project).
Willingness to travel and work across project sites in Nigeria.
Expatriates with relevant African or tropical experience are highly encouraged to apply.
