Purpose of Job
Maintains all facilities on park property. Plans and executes the day-to-day plans for maintaining all park facilities. Must be available to work holidays weekends and nights during special events.
II. Essential Job Duties
A. Maintaining Park Facilities
- Cleans all park grounds and facilities daily. Involves cleaning facilities restrooms removing trash from grounds and emptying trashcans.
- Restocks amenities in all facilities as needed including light bulbs and other routine items.
- Maintains general upkeep of all facilities including painting pressure washing installing fixtures repairing sinks installing trim and other minor maintenance duties as required.
- Performs general inspections and upkeep of all equipment used.
B. Trails
- Oversees the cleanliness of the trail system within the parks system.
- Responsibilities include blowing surfaces pressure washing of surfacing of all trails.
- May assist with routine maintenance to all trails including the mountain bike trail system along with installation and/or repairs of any amenities within the parks system.
- Shall perform weekly inspections of each trail section throughout the entire parks system.
- May assist with special projects which include but not limited to signage benches trailheads trash cans water fountains and other structures.
- Coordinates upon request with general public and special interest groups with trail planning and construction.
C. Dog Parks
- Oversees the cleanliness of each dog park within the parks system.
- Responsibilities include blowing of debris pressure washing of surfacing and emptying dog waste disposal stations within each dog park(s).
- Responds to citizen requests.
- Installation of signage and minor repairs.
- May assist with special projects which includes but not limited to signage benches kiosks trash cans water/dog fountains gates and other structures.
- Responsible for monthly rotation of paddocks/signage for each dog park.
D. Training
- Internal- Forklift & Skid Steer
- Professional training as it relates to the position.
III. Other Job Duties
Performs other job duties as assigned including:
- Coordinate facility set-ups with Programming Division for rental events and internal meetings.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities to assist other employees in the department as required.
IV. Primary Job Challenges
Primary challenges of this position include dealing with human and animal waste.This position requires an individual to work nights and weekends during events odd hours pre and post events and on some holidays.
V. Equipment Operated
- These employees operate the following on a weekly basis: blowers pressure washers backpack blowers various hand tools mini-packer bobcat golf carts trucks trailers and other equipment used in completion of assigned tasks.
- Computer and computer software including virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams and other office equipment.

- Mathematical Skills: Add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out multi-step instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Deal with problems by choosing from several known choices with frequent reliance on how problems were dealt with before.
