Job Description
The Database Entry / Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the Inteum Database system supporting the intellectual property management processes of Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties (VTIP Inc.). This includes entering and updating records related to patent applications agreements and invention disclosures. The position also provides administrative support for database auditing reporting and system task management. Attention to detail and data integrity are critical for success in this role.
Office location in Blacksburg VA and position is eligible for on-site remote or hybrid work arrangement. This position is average up to 30 hours between Monday through Friday. The schedule will be confirmed up on hire and may be adjusted to meet the business needs of the unit
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage high volumes of data entry consistently
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency with office software tools and database systems
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with intellectual property terminology and legal documentation
Experience working in IP management systems
Experience in higher education nonprofit or legal/technical environments
