Job Description
SUMMARYThe Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning at Central Catholic High School (CCHS) serves as the primary instructional leader in the school. The Assistant Principal will have the ability to inspire teachers and other administrators to embrace imaginative and engaging pedagogical approaches and assessments in order to meet the needs of diverse learners. The Assistant Principal works directly with department chairs and faculty to continually improve teacher instruction and student learning. The Assistant Principal is a member of the Principals administrative team and reports directly to the Principal.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInstructional Leadership and Curriculum OversightLeads department chairs and teachers in developing and assuring high quality curriculum instruction and evaluation of the curriculum to ensure course goals and objectives are leadership in collaboration with department chairs and faculty in analyzing data to inform best practices to improve academic and social growth for all department chairs in the selection of new textbooks and other teaching and learning research with faculty/staff on emerging pedagogy that promotes optimal student and updates Academic Course Guide on a regular as the Advanced Placement (AP) Coordinator for all aspects of the College Boards AP Course Audit including the monitoring of AP academic programs instruction and compliance requirements and the organization and administration of AP dual enrollment programs with partner colleges and universities.Faculty Oversight and Professional DevelopmentObserves evaluates and supervises teachers including teacher class pages and grade and supervises department chairs by setting goals and providing regular and implements the teacher orientation and mentorship and promotes professional development opportunities in all areas of curriculum and coordinates and develops professional development in-service programs in the areas of teaching and current on educational research by engaging in professional development activities professional reading and peer collaboration.Collaboration Technology and Academic SupportCollaborates with the Assistant Principal of Innovation on educational technology needs and effective use of technology integration for teaching and the Academic Advisory collaboratively in the interest of students academic performance with the Academic collaboratively with members of the administrative team.HOW TO APPLY For immediate consideration interested candidates are invited to submit the following materials.
