    SUMMARY:


    The Adult Education Technology Specialist position is designed to provide instructional technology assistance and classroom support to adult education instructors and learners. This role involves facilitating the integration of technology into instruction supporting digital literacy and providing administrative and technology support to ensure effective classroom operation and student engagement.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervises the use of classroom technology by students and teachers.
    • Supports teachers and students during computer-based learning activities in the in-person and virtual classrooms.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


    The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in education technology or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting educational technology in a classroom or training setting.
    • Minimum of 5 years of training experience within the area of technology and LMS implementation.
    • Experience with data system management and learning management systems (LMS).

    CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:


    Required:
    • Basic certification or training in educational technology integration or equivalent experience.
    • Proficiency in commonly used digital tools and platforms (e.g. Google Workspace Microsoft Office Zoom).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Adult Education Technology Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Managing and maintaining classroom technology ensuring all devices are in working condition.
    • Providing technical troubleshooting and support for instructors and students during class sessions.
    • Assisting with data collection and uploading of student files into Laserfiche.
    • Maintaining an inventory of technology equipment and supplies.
    • Provide PD training to staff regarding existing and emerging technologies.
    • Assisting instructors with the implementation and integration of educational technology tools in both in-person and online learning environments.
    • Collaborating with teachers to design and implement interactive and engaging instructional materials including multimedia content.
    • Conducting small group or one-on-one orientation sessions to support students use of technology.
    • Supporting students in developing foundational digital literacy skills including accessing course materials navigating learning platforms and using online tools.
    • Provide digital literacy workshops to Adult Ed students to develop students digital literacy skills and increase comfort with the use of technology in the classroom and at home.
    • Encouraging and fostering a positive learning environment conducive to student success.
    • Attending and participating in staff meetings and professional development related to educational technology and classroom support.
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:

    • Possess effective oral and written communication skills in English.
    • Proficiency with educational technology tools and platforms including learning management systems digital communication tools and adaptive learning software.
    • Strong ability to assist adults in learning and utilizing new technology tools.
    • The ability to work with diverse student populations and instructional staff in a positive and collaborative manner. Ability to converse in Spanish Russian and other languages is a plus.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in handling technical challenges.
    • The ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with sensitive information.
    • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • A growth mindset and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
