Job Description
- Conduct comprehensive product assessments to evaluate design feasibility and manufacturability within automotive manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate closely with Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to facilitate the exchange of information regarding product specifications and tooling requirements.
- Validate product interface with tooling systems to ensure seamless integration and compatibility during the manufacturing process.
- Analyze potential areas for improvement and make recommendations for Design to Manufacturing (DtM) changes to enhance product manufacturability and efficiency.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement recommended changes and ensure alignment between product design and manufacturing processes.
- Utilize engineering principles and tools to assess the impact of proposed changes on product performance quality and cost.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to gather input and incorporate best practices into product feasibility assessments.
- Document findings recommendations and decision rationale for future reference and continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay updated on industry trends emerging technologies and best practices related to product design and manufacturing feasibility.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on product assessment and feasibility within the automotive industry.
- Experience with design tools such as NX Catia AutoCAD and also with the use of Teamcenter.
- Proven ability to facilitate communication and collaboration between Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
- Strong understanding of tooling requirements and their interface with product design.
- Experience in making recommendations for Design to Manufacturing (DtM) changes to improve product manufacturability.
- Proficiency in engineering analysis tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
- Project management skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.
