You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailSCOPE OF WORK: Performs skilled work in the routine general and preventative custodial grounds and/or building maintenance and assists in coordinating the work activities of staff engaged in performing similar duties. This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor at NHTI Concords Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency.
Experience: Two years experience in custodial grounds-keeping or light maintenance work with equipment operation and maintenance and some supervisory or project coordination experience. Valid drivers license required.
Special Requirements: Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule and/or change hours during any special or emergency event to support college activities that exceed normal operating hours and to adjust work schedule to meet college requirements. Based upon emergency event this position may be designated as Essential Personnel and is subject to all of its provisions.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Thorough knowledge of the methods and practices of cleaning services in a large building complex. Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Ability to maintain and establish schedules. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners scrubbing machines polishing machines and other janitorial equipment. Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment. Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces. Ability to work effectively with fellow workers and others. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Sufficient physical strength to perform custodial tasks. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
