LSIs Safety Branch is responsible for delivering effective and efficient regulatory management for the protection of the public and workers safety through education outreach inspection and enforcement equipment registration permits and licensing. With a staff of over 130 employees across Nova Scotia we set pomote enforce and verify requirements in alignment with various legislation and our collective commitment to ensuring health and safety is valued prioritized and lived in Nova Scotia.
Reporting to the Senior Executive Director the Executive Director of the Technical Safety Division provides strategic direction and oversight for numerous regulatory and program services related to Technical Safety. The Executive Director is responsible for the development implementation and evaluation of a broad mandate in relation to equipment safety and the use of the equipment for persons using Boilers and Pressure Vessels Power Engineering Welding Electrical Elevators Amusement Devices Cranes and Fuel.
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have at minimum a bachelors degree or a professional designation in a related discipline with several years experience as a leader and a manager of people in a complex system. It would be considered an asset to have experience working in a regulatory or skilled trades environment. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Detail focused and highly collaborative you have experience leading programs from development through to successful implementation. You have a demonstrated ability to identify innovative inclusive solutions to complex strategic and operational requirements.
A skilled negotiator and decision maker you are highly adept at navigating dynamic environments and re-deploying resources to meet changing priorities.

Most of your work is in a comfortable office environment. You will be required to travel around the province on occasion.
Pay Grade: EC 15
Salary Range: $5005.74- $6257.15Bi-Weekly
