Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Staff Supervisor to oversee the performance of patient testing including pre-analytical analytical and post-analytical phases of testing. The successful candidate will ensure that all testing personnel demonstrate minimum qualifications as set forth by CLIA 88 and outlined in the Education and Experience section below. The Laboratory Staff Supervisor will be responsible for following established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and quality of patient care.
SUPERVISORIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for laboratory compliance and quality.
- Adheres to professional standards clinic policies and procedures federal state and local requirements.
- Serves as resource by participating in staff training; answering questions of other professionals; participating in educational opportunities.
- Demonstrates proficiency and core competency including; punctual and responsible in attendance flexibility in scheduling appropriate independent judgment and initiative professional appearance and demeanor promotes teamwork maintains positive attitude.
- Participates in the hiring training and mentoring of new employees and clinic and/or departmental committees.
- Completes other supervisory duties as required for assigned staff.

- Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science or a chemical physical or biological science preferred.
- A Medical Technology degree from an accredited institution or currently licensed to practice as a MT/MLT in the state of Kansas preferred
- A high school diploma or equivalent AND documentation of training for skills necessary to perform laboratory testing duties in this facility required.
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures required.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation maintenance and troubleshooting required.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program required.
