Unparalleled Preparatory Academy (UPA) is a 6th12th grade career-immersion charter school opening August 2025 in Pflugerville Texas. Through a hands-on interdisciplinary model rooted in design thinking leadership development and real-world exploration UPA exists to accelerate students paths to postsecondary success.

Position Overview
The Special Populations Program/ARD Facilitator plays a vital dual role in ensuring high-quality legally compliant special education services and IEP implementation. This individual will lead all ARD processes coordinate special education programming across the school and may support a small (10 or less) caseload of students. The remaining caseload will be supported by a dedicated SPED teacher.
Key Responsibilities
ARD / Compliance (60%)
- Schedule facilitate and document all ARD meetings in accordance with federal state and local timelines
- Ensure all IEPs are developed collaboratively and aligned to students strengths needs and academic goals
- Maintain compliance tracking systems and ensure all paperwork is submitted in a timely accurate manner
- Serve as liaison with contracted service providers (LSSP Diagnostician Region 13 etc.)
- Support general education teachers with IEP implementation and progress monitoring
Special Education Coordination (30%)
- Oversee special education service delivery and ensure alignment with each students IEP
- Provide coaching and support to SPED and general ed teachers related to accommodations modifications and inclusive practices
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure UPAs systems are inclusive trauma-informed and legally compliant
- Manage TSDS SPED submissions in coordination with the PEIMS/Data team
Direct Service (10%)
- Serve as case manager for students with low-intensity support needs
- Provide direct services as required by IEP (primarily consult monitoring or accommodations support)
- Ensure progress is monitored and communicated regularly to families and staff
Qualifications
- Valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education (EC12 or equivalent)
- At least 5 years of successful experience in special education with demonstrated IEP development and ARD facilitation expertise
- Deep knowledge of IDEA Texas SPED law and compliance systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with students families and team members
- Attention to detail systems-orientation and strong written communication
Preferred
- Experience in a charter or small-school environment
- Experience serving as ARD Facilitator or SPED Lead
- Experience with Frontline OnDataSuite or other IEP management systems
