About this Job
Central Louisiana State Hospital located in Pineville Louisiana is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our SECURITY as a/anPOLICE OFFICER 1-2 who protects lives and property by conducting foot and mobile security patrols enforcing parking and traffic regulations rendering emergency services investigating minor crimes and making arrests when necessary. Provides a limited range of police services.
POLICE OFFICER 1-2 plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSHs values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients. The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to insure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.

Minimum Qualifications
No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.
Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Provides foot or mobile security patrol and enforces parking regulations.
- Responds to emergencies and renders assistance as required.
- Prepares reports on activities.
- Provides crowd and traffic control at special events; may be required to intervene in situations utilizing force if necessary to make an arrest restore order prevent interference with normal operations and to protect persons or property.
Position-Specific Details:
A class D drivers license will be required before appointment.
Preference may be given to Central Louisiana State Hospital employees.Appointment Type: Job appointment Probation Promotion Demotion or Transfer.
Career Progression:This positionmay be filled as a Police Officer 1 or 2 depending on the level of education and experience of the selected applicant.
