This position is for a Senior Engineering Lab Assistant who is under general supervision. Performs basic to moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Collaborate with higher level support staff and engineers on details of drawings and builds. May assist in some training and assigning work to technical/business support employees.

This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids Iowa.

What you will do:

  • Will provide electrical and mechanical station build support for research design development or manufacturing activities for various customers.
  • Responsible for reading engineering drawings and building engineering builds and associated cabling and connectors.
  • Uses engineering tools and systems to look up needed reference and program information.
  • Assists engineers with the development of new engineering processes and/or products to ensure their manufacturability may recommend design changes.
  • Perform as a member of the design team including participant role utilizing effective communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of written/verbal instruction methods used by customers.
  • May provide some support/instruction to less experienced lab assistants.
  • Printed circuit design build and repairs to include multi-pin cable and connector builds and cable continuity verification.
  • Will be self motivated and be able to solve problems as they arise.
  • Will keep your area clean and organized.
  • Are expected to be very detail oriented with a high quality workmanship skills.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Previous experience reading engineering drawings and using lookup tools is required.
  • Previous experience with printed circuit design build and repairs to include multi-pin cable and connector builds and cable continuity verification is required.

The salary range for this role is 40000 USD - 82000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
