Job Description

$24.95 - $31.66 per hour; (NB. pending qualifications; age based salary rates apply if under 21)

Your Role

Applications are now invited from qualified educators for the position of Kindergarten Assistants to support Catholic Kindergartens in the Mackay Region. The below opportunities are available:

  • Kindergarten Inclusion Support Assistant at Emmanuel Kindergarten - 30 hours per fortnight (5 day fortnight Monday Tuesday and alternate Wednesday)
  • Kindergarten Inclusion Support Assistant at St Brendans Catholic Kindergarten - 15 hours per fortnight (5 day fortnight Thursday Friday and alternate Wednesday)

For the right applicant there is the potential to undertake both roles for 45hours per fortnight. These positions are for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant.

This position reports directly to the Kindergarten Director or person appointed to be responsible for the centre. Other key relationships include children families and the Early Learning & Care Manager.

As a Kindergarten Assistant you will play a vital role in supporting kindergarten teachers and students in their learning journey. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with classroom activities including lesson preparation and resource organisation
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students including students with additional needs.
  • Monitoring student progress and behaviour providing feedback to teachers
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and organising educational materials.

About you

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals who is passionate about education and working with students.

Experience in a similar role or working with children is desirable but not essential. We value individuals who are committed to continuous growth and are eager to learn and contribute to our educational communities.

A minimum of a Certificate III in Childrens Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved qualifications: required.
