Title: Extra Help Event Production
Division Name: Student Affairs
Department: Event Management Dining and Hospitality
Typical responsibilities include:
- Assists with creating reviewing and implementing day of show production schedule for events.
- Assists with the supervision of IATSE stage employees.
- Serves as stage manager for events including but not limited to overseeing schedule execution coordinating breaks and calling show cues.
- Install and maintain lighting sound audio-visual equipment and other production equipment as directed.
- Operates rigging components including fly rail truss systems and chain motors.
- Troubleshoots diagnoses and resolves technical issues.
- Assists with the supervision of student employees.
- Performs facility operation duties when necessary including but not limited to assisting with room setups facility opening and lock down and supervision of building operations student employees.

$19.67 per hour
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. One (1) year of experience in technical operations of event production or closely related experience
Varies based on events. 28 hours per week maximum.
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at workstation for extended periods.
2. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
4. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 80 pounds.
5. Ability to climb bend crouch kneel and reach overhead.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement with Illinois State University. However Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the Universitys supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
