Duties/Responsibilities:
The duties described below are indicative of what the Human Resources Generalist might be asked to perform. This job description is not an exhaustive list of job responsibilities and therefore other duties may be assigned.
Performs payroll-related tasks including but not limited to authorizing payroll deductions and reviewing timesheets for compliance with policy FLSA and contracts.
Performs onboarding tasks and implements new hire orientation.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Reviews tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training continuing education and work assessments. This may include safety training anti-harassment training professional licensure and aptitude exams and certifications.
Maintains compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Ensures compliance with the Affordable Care Act.
Collaborates with the Business/Staff Development team to ensure a seamless process from applicant to employee.
Facilitates the off-boarding process which includes an electronic exit survey and a virtual meeting to discuss wages and benefits upon termination.
Assists with employment-related inquiries from applicants employees and team members referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Maintains data within the HRIS system under the direction of the Human Resources Director.
Assists in the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures and maintains knowledge of trends best practices regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources talent management and employment law.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and /or ability required at the time of hire or for the continuation of employment. Excellent verbal and written communication interpersonal negotiation and conflict-resolution organizational skills and attention to time management skills with a proven ability to meet analytical and problem-solving to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when to act with integrity professionalism and knowledge of employment-related laws and team-building skills to ensure daily workflow of the department and with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems current system is Paylocity. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Gmail and Google-related software.
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in human resources organizational management or business administration or related field (2) years of human resource experience. Experience with recruitment onboarding/orientation benefits administration payroll and the offboarding process is -CP or PHR is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
