The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a detail-oriented tech-savvy and customer-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources Division. This role is essential in supporting daily HR operations with a strong emphasis on benefits administration employee support and administrative coordination in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the life cycle of employee benefits enrollment including new hires processing qualifying life events and supporting annual open enrollment
- Monitor and respond to inquiries via the HR Helpdesk ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Serve as a primary contact for employee benefits inquiries providing guidance on plan options eligibility and procedures
- Coordinate and process benefit changes and updates in HR systems accurately and in a timely manner
- Oversee timecard submission for non-exempt employees using ADP and provide training for new hires on the process
- Maintain and regularly update new employee orientation materials
- Create and maintain HR pages on intranet
- Assist with employee recognition efforts such as the annual service awards program
- Process HR-related invoices and ensure compliance with VEDPs payment guidelines
- Order and maintain office and meeting supplies as needed
- Provide back-up coverage for the front desk and assist with conference room scheduling
- Cover the reception desk during designated break periods
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including excellent grammar and proofreading.
- Demonstrated experience delivering outstanding internal customer service.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
- Skilled in using HRIS platforms (ex. ADP Workforce Now)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint
Experience:
- Academic or professional experience in the field of Human Resources preferred
- Familiarity with HR practices is a plus
- Proficient in leveraging HR technologies and software to streamline processes enhance data accuracy and improve employee experience.
