The primary responsibilities of this role are to support the maintenance for the Process Analyzer Systems at the Baytown site (RUN Engineer) as well as to provide PAT (Process Analyzer Technology) engineering and project management services (PROJECT Engineer). Maintenance support includes all aspects of lifecycle management of analyzers. PAT engineering focuses on the design and implementation of new analyzer systems as a PAT-specific activity or as part of a greater capital project.
Major Responsibilities
Supports the maintenance of Process Analyzer Systems at the Baytown site. This includes training of maintenance and operations personnel advanced troubleshooting and communication with the unit.
Works to continuously improve the installed Process Analyzers Systems. This includes analyzing maintenance records for performing analyzers. Analyzes proposes and oversees necessary improvements. Identification of Bad actors. Improvement of PAT KPIs and PAT Operating Windows (OPW). Define lifetime cycle management.
Leads PAT-focused projects or the PAT-section of larger Engineering projects. Directs team to analyze and define process analyzer requirements and to perform design of process analyzer systems. Directs designers contractors vendors and technicians from conceptual design through construction and commissioning of process analyzer systems.
Participate in all preliminary and process safety reviews with particular emphasis on PAT systems.
Supports documentation control to make sure PAT projects and maintenance documentation is available and up to date.
Follows Covestro and industry-established practices standards guidelines and procedures for preparation of estimates scopes specifications design and other deliverables.
Modifies existing or creates new PAT engineering procedures standard templates and practices to stay up to date with technology and improved methods.
Interfaces with other engineering disciplines/departments operations and maintenance personnel and vendors/suppliers.
Coaches and teaches junior members to support sustainable development of the PAT Group.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in an Engineering or related discipline and at least 4 years of experience in process analyzer technology and comprehensive knowledge concerning PAT in chemical industrial or pharmaceutical facilities. OR
Masters degree in an Engineering or related discipline and at least 2 years of experience in process analyzer technology and comprehensive knowledge concerning PAT in chemical industrial or pharmaceutical facilities
The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in instrumentation chemical engineering or chemistry
