Job Description

  • 6 MONTH PARENTAL LEAVE CONTRACT
  • FLEXIBLE LOCATION OF WORK - LISMORE NORTHERN RIVERS OR RALEIGH MID NORTH COAST

Reporting to the Work Health & Safety Manager you will be responsible for providing WHS advice and assistance to our rural retail and agribusiness sites and implementing WHS initiatives aligned to the WHS strategy.

This is a six-month parental leave contract with the possibility of extension.

This role does require some travel to our rural retail and agribusiness sites to support the implementation of initiatives.

What are the WHS Advisors key responsibilities

  • Drive safety culture initiatives to develop employee safety awareness towards a zero-harm culture.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the WHS strategic plan for Norco.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of WHS audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the development implementation and application of WHS policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate risk assessments to ensure risks and hazards are managed.
  • Assist with reporting and investigating incidents injuries and hazards and the implementation of agreed control measures.
  • Provide support as required to ensure effective and thorough root cause analysis has been carried out and appropriate corrective actions identified and implemented and then re-assess for effectiveness.
  • Review and analyse injury and incident reports and data and develop injury and incident prevention strategies to address trends.
  • Develop and implement WHS communication strategies according to the WHS strategy.
  • Prepare reporting on lead and lag indicators and showcase other safety initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to managers employees on the WHS management systems and process deployed across Norco.
  • Ensure WHS committees are being scheduled and undertaken in accordance with established schedules and legislative requirements.

Skills and experience required to succeed:

  • Degree qualifications in WHS HR Risk Management or similar.
  • Experience in WHS auditing risk management investigations and reporting.
  • Experience leading WHS consultation and communication.
  • Understanding of WHS legislation and the ability to apply the knowledge.
  • History of working in continuous improvement WHS framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop WHS programs for business improvement.
  • Ability to investigate complaints and disciplinary matters.
  • Current C Class drivers license.
