POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst plays a role in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of clinical operations. This position will partner with departmental leadership to provide data-driven insights financial modeling and performance analysis that inform strategic decision-making.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC JOB TASKS:
Financial Oversight and Budgeting:
- May conduct variance analyses which will be used to make recommendations based on financial performance.
Financial and Data Management and Analysis:
- Gather aggregate and analyze financial and operational data from multiple sources.
- Develop and maintain reports on clinical productivity revenue trends and key performance indicators.
- Prepare financial and clinical data sets for leadership meetings to inform strategic and operational decisions aligned with organizational objectives.
- Analyze financial and operational data to help inform process improvement.
- Provide support for specific divisional projects as assigned.
Compliance with Policies Regulations and Laws and Operation Oversight:
- Use financial and operational data to ensure compliance with institutional policies external regulations and reporting standards
Transaction Processing:
- Prepare reports utilizing financial data to assist in developing operational recommendations.
- Transaction processing is minimal but may result from analytical work.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 2 years experience working with analysis of complex data sets including collection and design.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to exercise discretion in matters of confidential and sensitive nature.
- Excellent problem-solving customer service and conflict resolution skills as demonstrated by the ability to work effectively with individuals and/or teams.
- Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer software applications.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a hospital and/or academic medical setting.
- Reasonable knowledge of University of Iowa policies rules and regulations.
- Experience working with Power BI.
