Job Description
Position Summary:
Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to lead our dietary team in delivering high-quality food services to our patients staff and guests. This role is essential in maintaining daily operations across the kitchen Caf Doctors Lounge and patient services-including tray assembly floor stock supplements and sanitation. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills a commitment to excellence and a passion for ensuring nutritional quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise dietary staff and coordinate daily food service operations.
Ensure proper tray assembly portion control and diet modifications per patient menus.
Monitor and ensure completion of all temperature and sanitation logs.
Coordinate floor stock and food production across all food service areas.
Assist with employee scheduling orientation and performance evaluations.
Report equipment malfunctions and ensure facility cleanliness standards are upheld.
Support catering events menu corrections and compliance with dietary protocols.
Provide in-service training coaching and enforce disciplinary actions as needed.
Communicate effectively with the Food Service Manager on department issues and updates.
Delegate responsibilities appropriately while ensuring task completion.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to train evaluate and counsel staff
Knowledge of food safety sanitation and dietary guidelines
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle high-stress environments professionally
Education & Certification Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Food Handlers or ServSafe Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) - preferred
Experience:
Prior supervisory experience in food services or healthcare setting is a plus
Other Requirements:
TB test and drug screening clearance
Background check clearance
