Job Description
Overview
The Pharmacy Technician II Billing is accountable for the timely and accurate billing for Unity Point Cedar Rapids retail pharmacy. This position is responsible for accounting and billing services (including but not limited patient account management third party claim reconciliation daily and month end accounting activities) collaborative inventory management (i.e. returns outdates annual and controlled inventories) clerical duties as assigned (i.e. ordering of supplies mail.)

Responsibilities
Billing/Accounting Functions
- Complete billing and accounting functions for retail pharmacy.
Inventory/Supply Coordination
- Assists in maintaining adequate stock levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies through established inventory procedures. Communicates unusual usage patterns to supervisor and inventory staff.
- Assists in the management of 340B and Pharmacy virtual and on-hand inventories.
- Assist in ordering supplies.
Technical Support
- Under the supervision of the pharmacist enters labels and prepares medication orders.
- Maintains patients profiles by adding/updating demographics allergies and insurance information
- Exhibits and maintains extensive knowledge in processing insurance claims and reimbursement procedures.
Clerical Support
- Handling mail
- Ordering supplies
- And other clerical duties
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Technician at the time of hire.
- Ability to read write and speak English
- Use of usual and customary equipment to perform essential functions of the position.
