Job Description

The Social Media & Communications Coordinator will work in a fast-paced dynamic department driving the strategic approach to communication by creating thoughtful creative and timely content across multiple online channels. This position is also responsible for internal and external communication pieces including e-newsletters articles for the print newsletter and website content. Additionally this position will support efforts and implementation of organization-wide marketing communications and event initiatives. A high degree of professionalism flexibility dependability and attention to detail is essential for success in this position. Salary range; $45k-$50k M-F 8am 4pm
Job Requirements:
  1. Manage social media presence aligned with Foodbank brand voice including drafting content calendars writing and creating compelling content and overseeing social publishing and social listening on a daily basis. Should be comfortable creating social media graphics and short videos.
  2. Monitor social media analytics noting monthly successes and adjusting content creation accordingly to increase effectiveness while promoting and strengthening brand identity in the community.
  3. Write and edit content for monthly e-newsletters for volunteers staff and community supporters and interview and write articles for quarterly print newsletter. Manage distribution of e-newsletters through existing Foodbank platforms.
  4. Provide ongoing content management of Foodbank website and digital signage ensuring content is up to date.
  5. Monitor website analytics noting trends in website-related activities and making adjustments to better engage website visitors.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate internal and external marketing efforts to support promotion of Foodbank initiatives campaigns programs and events.
  7. Represent the Foodbank with comfort in media-related (both traditional media and social media) activities. Deliver Foodbank presentations to community groups and represent the Foodbank through tours and tabling events when requested.
  8. Independently manage special projects as assigned and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelors degree preferred ideally in communications journalism or marketing with a focus in social media public relations or media relations.
  2. 1-3 years of experience with social media management writing marketing and/or communications.
  3. Willingness to monitor and manage social media activities both during and outside of traditional business hours.
  4. Experience in creating graphics for use among various digital outlets including social media.
  5. Experience with video recording equipment and editing software are preferred.
  6. Experience using Sprout Social or similar social media management software.
  7. Experience using website content management systems. Knowledge of basic HTML preferred.
  8. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  9. Excellent writing and grammar skills. Knowledge of AP Style preferred.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize work engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  12. Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
  13. Must be able to work independently and anticipate reporting and communication needs of the supervisor.
  14. Photography experience preferred.
