Job Description

Colby Community College is accepting applications for an Animal Science Instructor and Livestock Judging Team Coach. This nine-month position begins in August 2025. Candidate should establish and maintain effective working relationships with students administrators and faculty.
In addition to teaching the successful candidate will assess student learning and application of course objectives and competencies along with designing developing and maintaining course curriculum. The ability to build and maintain articulation agreements with regional four-year institutions in ag-related disciplines is essential. Experience in livestock selection and strong communication skills are necessary to coach a competitive livestock judging team. Participation in various professional activities such as actively serving on program advisory committees with area businesses and recruiting and advising students is expected. Must understand the importance of technology integrity innovative thinking and the ability to work as a team to increase enrollment in a rural setting.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Masters degree in Animal science or masters degree in a related field with 18 graduate credits in animal science required.
  • Postsecondary teaching experience preferred.

SALARY
$45900-$55250 depending on credentials. Plus an additional stipend and reduced instructional load for the Livestock Judging responsibilities.

Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964 CCC now serves more than 2400 students annually.

In addition to a 57-acre main campus a 60-acre farm is used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The College also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students through face-to-face online and hybrid courses.
