TasWaters Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is responsible for deliveringTasWaters major infrastructure projects. These extensive interesting and varied works form part of TasWaters $1.1 billion capital works program that is being rolled out across the state of Tasmania.

The purpose of the Capital Delivery Office is to position TasWater to fulfil its customer promises for improved service levels by efficiently and effectively delivering an accelerated capital program. The TasWater CDO is an Alliance between TasWater UGL CPB and partner WSP bringing together expertise across the project delivery cycle.

Your Opportunity:

The Site Engineer is responsible for assisting in providing engineering and coordination for the design supply installation/works and testing of the project. The primary challenge of this position is to ensure the projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet contractual arrangements made with the client.

  • Assist the Project Engineer with compliance to the documentation required under the CDO Management System
  • Review and plan the project with the Project Team to ensure technical aspects of the job are clear and to become familiar with contractual arrangements made with the client
  • Work within the Project Delivery Team to gain an understanding of TW CDO and the Water industry more generally.
  • Pro-actively developing customer relationships by making efforts to listen and understand the customer (both internal and external)
  • Work effectively with the team to accomplish team goals taking actions that respect the needs and contributions of others.
  • Advocate a quality culture that continually seeks to improve the quality of its products and services.
  • Establish clear communication solid lines of control and delegation to sub-ordinates and actively create and maintain a culture of openness responsiveness honest ethics and responsibility across the team.
  • Ensure a safe working condition is present for all employees contractors and visitors
  • Promote One HSE Culture
  • Work closely with your supervisor in the setting of priorities and tasks providing and receiving feedback on completed tasks etc. on a regular and ongoing basis.
  • Gathering of information discussion on work requirements clarification etc. to occur regularly with relevant TW CDO stakeholders/teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all TW CDO HSEQC policies procedures and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with TW CDOs Fitness for Work Policy including undertaking your own Drug & Alcohol responsibility of care and submitting to random testing as required.
Qualifications and education requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Considerable experience in the relevant discipline
  • Prior sub-contractor management experience and the ability to lead in the completion of key projects
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Experience in a utilities and/or service industry

This role is based in Tasmania. For those outside of Tasmania relocation is required. An attractive relocation package will be made available to the successful applicants.
