Job Description
Data Engineer (Azure) Hybrid Princeton NJ
Overview:
We are seeking a Data Engineer with deep expertise in Azure-based data architecture and development. The ideal candidate has a strong background in building scalable data pipelines implementing Microsoft and Azure BI solutions and supporting high-volume data environments preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Design develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory Databricks and related Azure tools
Build and optimize data warehouse structures using Azure SQL Azure Data Lake and Analysis Services (SSAS)
Create and maintain data models and tabular databases to support advanced analytics and reporting needs
Develop schedule and monitor data ingestion processes from diverse sources (flat files SQL Server MongoDB etc.)
Implement multi-layered architecture including raw staging (bronze/silver/gold) and curated zones
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business rules into scalable data solutions
Apply best practices in version control testing and automation within a modern data engineering lifecycle
Contribute to Agile ceremonies and collaborate across teams using SCRUM methodologies

Other Qualifications:
10 years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence development
Hands-on experience with data warehousing and data modeling techniques
Experience with data governance metadata management and documentation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Technical Skills: Business Intelligence:Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Services (SSAS), Azure Data Lake Analytics, Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS), Azure Integration Runtime, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Stream Analytics, DBT Database Technologies:Azure SQL, MongoDB, PySpark Experience Required: Data Engineering Experience in implementing Microsoft BI/Azure BI solutions like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Services, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services. Strong Understanding in Azure Big data technologies like Azure Data Lake Analytics, Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Data Factory and in moving the data from flat files and SQL Server using U-SQL jobs.
