You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Department of Accountancy is seeking to fill one open tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Our primary teaching need for the position is in the area of financial accounting. New faculty teach on a 2-2 load (guaranteed for three years) and can stay on that load indefinitely based on research productivity. Expectations include a commitment to high-quality teaching both in-person and online at both the undergraduate and graduate level including advanced courses in our Master of Science in Accountancy programs scholarship leading to conference presentations and refereed journal publications and university and community service. The start date for this position is August 2026.
The Department of Accountancy has approximately 500 accounting students in the undergraduate program with another 150 students across our three Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) programs (MSA MSA-Taxation and MSA-Online). We usually offer two sections per semester of most of our undergraduate courses (one section in-person and one section online). Graduate courses are usually only offered once per year also with one section in-person and one online (usually in the same semester). Summer courses are offered almost exclusively online. The College of Business and Economics is supportive of research endeavors including providing access to archival databases via WRDS and Bloomberg and supporting faculty through personal development accounts among other initiatives. Salary is competitive within the Western region and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
