  • Full-time permanent role in Sydneywith a hybrid working environment (3 days in office)

Whats the role

Were looking for aSenior Associate / Associate Directorto join theFinancial Insights Risk and Enablementteam withinGroup Treasurys Chief Investment Office (CIO).

CIO manages the risks arising from Westpacs daily banking activities and structural balance sheet positions including interest rate foreign currency basis risks liquid assets collateral obligations and liquidity risk.

In this role youll be the primary contact for traders when risk or valuation issues arise in CIOs Front Office Risk and P&L platform (Dragon). Youll diagnose system breaks translate complex valuation mechanics into trader-friendly language and support solution design for continuous improvements.

Youll also represent CIO in broader Group Treasury initiatives and identify opportunities to simplify processes and reduce operational risk. This role requires strong quantitative and analytical skills to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.

This is afull-time permanent role based in Sydney with ahybrid working environment (3 days in office).

What do I need

To be successful in this role youll bring:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience in financial market products and risk platforms
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets and Treasury including Murex product system and front office risk and P&L
  • Excellent Excel skills: programming experience (e.g. Python VBA SQL) is a valuable bonus
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across multiple levels
  • A proactive self-motivated attitude with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement
