Description

Position Summary: The Career We Can Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and executing organization-wide events managing community partnerships overseeing volunteer and mentor recruitment and ensuring equitable access to enrichment opportunities for scholars. This role collaborates with site teams programming staff and external partners to create meaningful experiences that align with COREs mission and goals. This role is instrumental in fostering meaningful connections between CORE its scholars and the broader community ensuring impactful experiences for all involved.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentor Volunteer and Intern Oversight:

  • Lead the recruitment screening training and engagement of volunteers interns and Career We Can (CWC) mentors.
  • Develop training content and facilitate onboarding training activities that equip supporters to engage effectively and confidently.
  • Provide ongoing support and communication to mentors including monthly check-ins and resource sharing.
  • Plan and implement team-building activities appreciation events and professional development opportunities for mentors and volunteers.
  • Coordinate logistics for mentor outings and Scholar engagements including transportation scheduling and communication.
  • Attend CWC mentoring meetings and events to provide support and ensure program conformity and integrity.
  • Manage volunteer and mentor data using designated platforms to track participation and performance.

Program Implementation & Community Engagement:

  • Collaborate with CORE site teams programming staff and external partners to design and implement high-impact experiences that align with organizational goals.
  • Ensure all Scholars have equitable access to enrichment activities including volunteer-supported events and mentoring opportunities.
  • Foster meaningful relationships between CORE its Scholars and the broader community to deepen engagement and support.
  • Represent CORE in community events and partnerships as needed.

Budgeting & Financial Insight:

  • Develop and implement cost-effective strategies for community engagement mentor outings and volunteer initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage relevant program budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Support fundraising efforts by identifying potential sponsors grants and in-kind donors to sustain programming.
  • Anticipate and address logistical or budget-related challenges offering proactive solutions to support smooth program delivery.

Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting

  • Collect and share timely data and feedback with the Leadership Team to evaluate program effectiveness on a regular basis.
  • Monitor participation trends and performance benchmarks; make recommendations for improvement.
  • Support organizational learning by helping assess the success and sustainability of engagement strategies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in team meetings and organization-wide planning efforts.
  • Contribute to the overall success of CORE by embracing flexibility collaboration and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in service of COREs mission and values.


Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Communication Social Work Public Administration or a related field or combination of education and work experience..
  • At least 3 years of experience working with diverse youth populations (ages 618) preferably in under-resourced communities.
  • Strong background in volunteer or mentorship coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and foster relationships with diverse groups.
  • Experience developing delivering and facilitating training or presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Technologically proficient especially with Apple products and volunteer management platforms.
  • Deep commitment to youth empowerment equity and COREs mission.

This role is instrumental in fostering meaningful connections between CORE its scholars and the broader community ensuring impactful experiences for all involved.

Reports to: Program Director

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Team Member to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

Must be able to sit stand walk and communicate clearly for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. Requires frequent use of computers and standard office equipment. Must be comfortable navigating school and community settings including environments with moderate to high noise levels. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those Team Members encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on a school campus the noise level can increase to a loud level.

Team Members must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the organization.
